Meet Tôsh
The Background of My Path
My journey began at fourteen when my mom read an article about something called “meditation”, a word not commonly used in the mid-70s. She described it simply: “closing your eyes and repeating a word that has no meaning.” That was the extent of my introduction.
I decided to try it, and very quickly began having experiences of what I now know to be the subtle body. It came naturally, and I was hooked—though I had no regular practice, just spontaneous moments when I would drop in.
By the time I received any formal meditation instruction, I had been practicing for eighteen years. The formal study only confirmed the experiences I was already having.
From this self-formed path, which aligned with teachings from spiritual masters, I realized that meditation is natural and simple. Decades of spiritual study—covering many texts, systems, perspectives, and traditions—have confirmed that truth lives in simplicity and clarity.
This forms the foundation of how I approach spirituality and meditation: the heart already knows, and when the mind aligns with the heart, understanding arises. I guide others into direct experience of higher planes of consciousness through meditation, then bring that experience to the intellect for understanding.
The Basis of My Teaching
The path of “see first, understand later” unfolded naturally for me. When I eventually found my spiritual master, he said his lineage follows a “pointing out path.”
Along with the “pointing out” meditations that come through the lineage of masters and other beings working with us, is the work of aligning the mind.
This work fits into the framework of four progressive levels of conscious experience: Life happens to you; Life happens for you; Life happens through you; You are life.
Most of humanity remains stuck at the first level, experiencing life as victims of circumstance.
When someone is ready to grow spiritually, they realize, in some form, that they are bound by their own mind, and they yearn to be free, to feel the depths within themselves that they intuitively sense.
Having done this deep dive within myself for decades, I know the terrain—the ups and downs of navigating out of the mind’s traps. I find great joy in guiding others to ever greater freedom.
Vedic Astrology
While traversing my own path, I naturally sought readings—several of them astrological. I never truly resonated with those readings, yet I felt there was truth to astrology, even if the interpretations never felt quite right. This mismatch between inner knowing and outer experience gnawed at me for a long time.
Then the opportunity arose to learn Vedic astrology, also known as Jyotish, from a Himalayan master. He explained that true astrology evolves with the times and needs of modern people. While older methods speak of “malefic” planets that subject you to misfortune, his method reveals the lessons within areas of friction. The older method reflects the “life is happening to me” phase, while this updated version serves those in the “life is happening for me” phase. This resonated with me and how I approach personal growth so I dove into the study.
In my readings, this is the focus. I point out how and where you can lean into the events of your life to extract the lessons, the juice, from them. Astrology is not a story of fate, but of possibility and potential. When you see that the challenges in your life are part of a bigger soul plan for learning, your life takes on new meaning. Life becomes deeply purposeful; the pain leads to conscious growth. To me, the greatest tragedy in life is to experience pain and not get anything from it.
I spend a great deal of time with each chart that I read. In fact, I don’t do the reading until I feel I can see the soul path and have something truly valuable to offer.
The World Drama
The breakdowns we see in society around the world are not from bad planning, bad leaders, or bad luck. Those are symptoms. What is actually happening is that the flow of life is taking us through an upgrade in consciousness.
All change causes stress, and we now have an abundance of it. We know the old systems are dying, and try as we might, they can’t be saved or returned to how they used to be.
Accepting that this is the case, what is the best course of action? For sure, turning a blind eye and hoping it will all magically improve is an invitation to suffering. Instead, understand that change is here and more is coming. The question becomes: how do we navigate major change?’
The Offerings
What I offer is not to fight the dragon, but to ride it. These world changes are an amazing gift because they shake up the status quo. They make people question what is happening and why. And there is an ultimate answer to that—the same answer that has existed from the beginning: we are here to awaken. To awaken to our eternal existence, our radiant love, our bliss, our full presence, our fulfillment.
In our groups, the focus is acceptance of the real being—messy, beautiful, confused, frustrated, humorous, yearning. We are all of it, and when it is all allowed and flows freely, aliveness comes.
These collective gatherings are offered through retreats, weekly meditation groups, and specific monthly meditations, along with one-on-one astrology or guidance sessions.
